At Reis Magos, 31k sqm is investment promotion area
Panaji: The Goa Investment Promotion Board on Friday notified a 31,280sqm swathe at Reis Magos, Bardez, as an investment promotion area. In 2016, the in-principle approval had been given to Spark Healthline Private Limited to build a 5-star and a 4-star resort along with a multilevel car parking facility.
Each resort will have three levels of car parking.
On the earmarking of the area, a public proclamation issued by the industries department says, “Govt of Goa proposes…to appoint the CEO of Goa Investment Promotion and Facilitation Board (IPB) to assess and recover house tax, as well as other fees and dues.”
The Goa IPB has given a 30-day window for stakeholders and locals to file objections. The objections have to be submitted in writing to the director of industries, trade and commerce.
The provisions of any state law regarding local authorities providing for control or erection of buildings, and the levy and collection of taxes, fees, and other dues to the local authority in charge of the area will rest with the IPB CEO, the Goa IPB has said.
Govt will compensate for a period of five years the village panchayat that was receiving the taxes for the area. It will be the CEO’s responsibility to collect all the taxes, fees, and dues for the investment promotion area and deposit the funds in state govt treasury immediately.
A planning, development and construction committee will authorise all permissions for construction of the resorts.
