As Carnival nears, Goa govt looks for next King Momo
With Carnival 2023 set to begin on February 18, the tourism department has called for applications from candidates to be King Momo. Applications must reach the department by January 20.

“A king is missing! Do you have what it takes to be the next King Momo?” read the notice by the department. “Have you always dreamed of playing the most lovable royal in Carnaval history? Show us that you have the personality and talent to play King Momo and be the centre of attention at the biggest festival in Goa!”
King Momo becomes the official king of Carnival and will lead the parade on a grand level, with his entourage comprising dancers, clowns and musicians.
