Arvalem p’yat gets its first sarpanch, dy

Bicholim: Sagar Sagun Malik was elected unopposed as the sarpanch and Sharada Malik as the deputy sarpanch of the newly formed Arvalem village panchayat, on August 14. Arvalem is the 18th panchayat of Bicholim taluka.
Sagar’s name for the sarpanch’s post was proposed by a panch member Mahesh Divkar and seconded by Guruprasad Naik. For the deputy sarpanch’s post, Sharada’s name was proposed and seconded by panch members Priya Thakur and Sagar, respectively.All five panchayat members were present. Extension officer Suryarao Rane presided over the election. Meanwhile, the election for Karapur-Sarvan sarpanch’s post will be held on August 22.
