Mapusa: After two recent incidents of tourists attacking locals, Arambol residents have raised fears of attacks by domestic tourists on Arambol beach.
“Foreign tourists don’t create any nuisance, but lately, the bullying by domestic tourists has increased tremendously. There are attacks on locals daily. They don’t follow any traffic rules, especially while parking their vehicles, and when questioned, they become furious and attack the locals,” said Uday Vaigankar, a local.
Two young brothers from Arambol lost their lives due to reckless driving by Telangana tourists, he added.
Locals have demanded prompt action by the authorities to stop the bullying by domestic tourists and to provide necessary basic infrastructure for sustainable tourism along the beach belt of Pernem.
