VASCO: Transport minister Mauvin Godinho on Friday said that the state government will launch a Transport Entrepreneurs Scheme (TES) to encourage unemployed youth to operate app-based taxis, free of charge and without any investments, under GoaMiles.Godinho was speaking to the media on the sidelines of a Republic Day function held at Dabolim. He stressed the need of promoting employment opportunities for youth and to enable them to become entrepreneurs without investing money.“All preparations have been made to launch the TES very shortly in the state by chief minister Pramod Sawant. A young person who is unemployed will be given a taxi free of charge, without any investment,” Godinho said. “The margin money will be paid by GoaMiles.”The minister emphasised that TES will be purely an app-based taxi service, encouraging youth to get employed. “There is no necessity to have a badge or a driving licence to avail of the scheme,” Godinho said. “Any unemployed youth who has a car and wants to be associated with GoaMiles can also run the vehicle under the TES. Even those who have two cars can avail of the benefits of the scheme.”
