'Bhurghem Jivit' excels at Children's tiatr festival

PANAJI: 'Bhurgem Jivit' staged by children of Ucassaim won the first place at the second children's tiatr festival held at Taleigao recently. It was organized by the Tiatr Academy, Goa.
'Bhurgeancho Fuddar' by St Anthony's High School, Monte de Guirim, and 'Poxchatap' by Taleigao Dramatic troupe won the second and third places respectively. 'Oxench Cholta' by Goa Velha's kids won consolation prize.
The first and second prizes for best male actor were won by Velbert Rodrigues ('Bhurgem Jivit') and Netwin ('Bhurgeancho Fuddar'), while Candida D'Souza ('Poxchatap') and Raiza Rodrigues ('Oxench Cholta') won the same for best female actors.
Best comedian (male/female categories) went to Aloysius ('Bhurgeancho Fuddar') and Roselyn Fernandes ('Konn Zababdar'), while Cruz Sequeira won the best stage setting for 'Bhurgem Jivit' and Dhananjay Falkar won best light effects for 'Bhurgem Jivit'.
Best music/live band was awarded to Luis Cota for 'Bhurgeancho Fuddar'; Vikas V Chopdekar won best background music award for 'Bhurgem Jivit'; best make-up went to Fermino Goes for 'Gorv'; while Rockson bagged the best costumes prize for 'Bhurgeancho Fuddar'.
Cameron Fernandes took the first place for best male singer in 'Bhurgem Jivit', while Klaver Taveira got the second place for 'Poxchatap'. Similarly, Violet D'Souza was declared the best female singer for 'Jivitacho Uzvadd', while Jlynna Fernandes got the second place in 'Bhurgem Jivit'.
The best duet went to Candida D'Souza/Emmanuel Fernandes for 'Poxchatap.' Best duo to Roslyn Fernandes/Froiala Rodrigues in 'Konn Zababdar'.
Best trio: Ciano/Gigi/Flenon in 'Durgam'. Best quartet/quintet: Wes/Leron/Abhi/Anelie in 'Oxench Cholta'. And best choral song: Violet D'Souza, Joaquim Lopes, Stacy Misquita in 'Jivitacho Uzvadd'.
Best lyrics were bagged by Efifanio Mendes for 'Oxench Cholta', best script by Marciano Noronha for 'Bhurgeancho Fuddar', and best direction to Vikas V Chopdekar ('Bhurgim Jivit'), Elvis Sequeira for 'Poxchatap' and Marciano Noronha for 'Bhurgeancho Fuddar' at first, second and third spots respectively.
