Alemao demands CBI probe into cash-for-job scam
Panaji: A thorough investigation is required to hold govt employees, brokers, and politicians responsible for demanding cash for jobs, said leader of the opposition Yuri Alemao on Thursday as he urged govt to take the case seriously.
He also said that govt must look into the allegations of abetment to suicide against police constables and a govt employee.
“This job scam case should be handed over to CBI or face a judicial inquiry as police may come under pressure,” Alemao said. “In the cash-for-job scam, one govt servant committed suicide. It should be thoroughly investigated what forced him to take such a drastic step.”
Alemao said that an impartial investigation will help expose a ‘gang of agents’ demanding bribes in exchange for govt jobs. He said that govt and the police, in particular, appear to be protecting those exploiting job seekers.
“This seems to be a major job scam in Goa, wherein accused persons have amassed crores defrauding people. It needs to be investigated who is behind this gang,” Alemao said.
