actor Ajay Devgn attending the inaugural ceremony on November 20. The closing ceremony will be at the hands of Telugu film director, S S Rajamouli.

With Korea being the country focus this year, the opening film will be ‘After Image’ directed by Andrzej Wajda, while the closing film will be ‘Age of Shadows’ directed by Kim Jee-woon. Veteran singer S P Balasubrahmanyam will be honoured with the centenary award for Indian film personality.

A total of 1,032 entries from across the globe were received this year. Of these, 198 films from 88 countries have been selected to be a part of the eight-day festival.

Sharing his thoughts on the festival, Entertainment Society of Goa (

ESG

) vice-chairman Rajendra Talak said, “Everything is going to be punctual. Delegates and organizers must keep discipline and come on time to make the event successful.”

He further added that delegates who book online tickets for Iffi but fail to show up for the movie will be not allowed to do so after the third attempt.

Padma awardees and Sahitya academy awardees from the state will also be invited for the opening and closing ceremonies. There will be Goan

movies featured at various venues outside Panaji. The artistes of Konkani film ‘K Sera Sera… Ghodpache Ghodtalech’ will be honoured on the red carpet.

Registration dates for delegates have been extended to November 15. Registration for Goan film directors, producers, actors and technicians will commence from November 2. Film tickets can be booked from November 19 onwards while offline booking will commence from November 20. An additional ticket counter for film bookings and collection of delegate cards will be soon set up at the Kala Academy.
