Accused get pre-arrest bail in fake gold loan case

COLVA: Ten persons facing charges in the fake gold loan cases have been granted anticipatory bail by the South Goa sessions court.
On January 24, a major fraud pertaining to gold loans amounting to Rs 2.5 crore had come to light at Bank of India’s Chinchinim, Velim and Cuncolim branches.
Apprehending arrest in the case, 10 accused filed applications seeking anticipatory bail.

Sugandha Lingtukar, Suchita N Gurav, Lalan Parrikar, Rajesh Karekar, Meeta Naik, Manoj Naik, Lydia Caraciola Cardozo, Bhavana Karekar, Madhav N Naik and Padmavati Balbadra were granted anticipatory bail by a local court on Friday upon furnishing a bail bond of Rs 10,000 each. They have been asked to report to the police as and when summoned by the police.
Acting on the complaints of the three branch managers, the Cuncolim police registered an offence under Section 420 read with 120 of IPC against all the accused.
