Aam Aadmi Party calls on OBCs to boycott panchayat polls in Goa
PANAJI: The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) has called on voters belonging to other backward classes (OBCs) to boycott the upcoming panchayat elections on grounds that the government had failed to keep seats reserved for them.
AAP’s Goa unit president Amit Palekar called on ministers in the BJP government belonging to OBCs to resign if they have self-respect since their government had failed to provide justice for OBCs. “We should unite to fight for the rights of OBCs and to fight against BJP government’s selfish motives,” Palekar said.
He said the BJP government is scared of the mandate the panchayat elections will throw up and hence, is looking for a reasons to postpone the elections.
