Panaji: In a bid to inculcate scientific temper and curiosity among students, 75

schools

in Goa are being given intellectually stimulating

sessions

on

science

by renowned

scientists

of India as a part of the pre-festival activity of the Science

So far, over 20 schools have been covered under the pre-fest activity. Most recently, experts from the Goa-based National Institute of Oceanography (NIO) gave a talk on Sir Prafulla Chandra Ray, the father of modern chemistry in India at the Anjuman High School, Cujira Educational Complex, Bambolim.

The science film

festival

is being organised by the Vidyanan Parishad, Goa, in collaboration with Vigyan Bharati and Entertainment Society of Goa from April 26-28. The science film festival will include a workshop on science filmmaking, science movies at Inox Panaji, workshops for teachers and the science village.

The Vidyanan Parishad, Goa, had recently conducted Vidyarthi Vigyan Manthan and the top three students were felicitated by Rajiv Nigam, chief scientist (retd), NIO.
