5 held for 2 robberies in South Goa
The Maina Curtorim police on Wednesday arrested five persons in connection with two cases registered recently.
While one is a theft of Rs 1.2 lakh worth of jewellery reported at Raia, the other is a highway robbery reported at the Quepem police station.
Police sources said that some of the persons arrested on Wednesday are suspected to be involved in both the cases of robbery.
Police also suspect the involvement of more persons in the two cases and are on their look out, official sources told TOI.
"We are on the verge of cracking the cases. Two main suspects are still at large, but we have widened our dragnet and they will be nabbed soon," a senior police official said.
Detailed interrogations of all the arrested are also under way, the official added.
