3 arrested for murdering colleague

Ponda: Following its investigation into the suspected murder of Philip Medar Kispotta, 38, a native of Jharkhand, Collem police arrested three of his colleagues on Saturday.

The accused had gone into hiding at their native places.

Kispotta’s body was found in the bushes near Collem railway station on October 24. In the post mortem report, forensic experts reported multiple fractures to the bones, suggesting the homicide. Considering the facts in the report, police registered a case of murder against unknown accused.

The police said that the three accused - Ramesh Talwar Doddamani, 40, a native of Hukkeri-Karnataka, Shivam Rambahadur, 22, a native of Uttar Pradesh, and Chandrakant Bhayawant, 56, a native of Satara-Maharashtra were spotted drinking liquor with Kispotta behind a temple near Collem railway station on October 23.

Police said that the trio assaulted Kispotta on October 23. The victim later succumbed to his injuries.
