275kg of laddoos from Pune charity sweeten memory

Old Goa: A charitable trust from Pune set up a treat stall on the footpath outside the Bom Jesus basilica after the feast Mass, distributing laddoos to all and sundry. The volunteers travelled by road to reach on the morning of Dec 3 and distributed 275kg of laddoos to everyone.

Pilgrims eagerly took their share and more for their family members.

“We want to make everyone happy,” Umakant Khole told TOI. “Don’t be shy, here, take the laddoos,” he was heard telling children and even senior citizens. The group travels to Goa every month to donate flowers and food to the chapel of St Francis Xavier at Old Goa, he said.
