‘2 posts of info commissioners to be filled’
Porvorim: Filling up of vacancies for the posts of the state chief information commissioner (SCIC) and state information commissioner (SIC) are under process and will be filled shortly, minister for information & publicity and chief minister Pramod Sawant stated in a written reply to a question in the assembly. The posts turned vacant after the terms of both the commissioners ended on March 2, 2024 .
“After appointment of SCIC and SIC, the cases filled in Goa state information commission will be disposed expeditiously,” Sawant said in response to a question by Margao MLA Digambar Kamat.
Between 2020 and March 1, this year the state commission disposed of 1,476 cases. In 2020, 240 cases were filed while 210 cases were disposed of. In 2021, 329 cases were filed and 233 cases were disposed of. Similarly in 2022, 373 cases were filed and 470 cases disposed of. In 2023, 525 cases were filed and 491 cases disposed of. In 2024, 373 cases were filed and 72 cases were disposed.
