2 arrested at Siolim in assault case

Panaji: Anjuna police on Sunday arrested two bouncers on charges of assaulting and extorting money from two tourists outside a parking lot of a restaurant in Siolim.

They arrests were made after Shailesh Jha, 32, a resident of Benguluru, lodged a complaint at Anjuna police station stating that he and his friend was thrashed by Pravin Pathrud and his companion Jaleel Ahmed, after their car accidently hit a parked scooter where the bouncers were posted for security. The complaint said that Pathrud snatched Jha’s car keys, assaulted him and the companion, and then forced them to pay Rs 5,000.

DySP Jivba Dalvi said the police will write to the security agency to cancel the licences of the accused.
