16-year-old girl commits suicide in Vasco

VASCO: Sixteen-year-old Ratan Mala Mishra committed suicide in her home at Varunapuri quarters in Vasco by burning herself while the family was asleep early Wednesday morning. The matter came to light when her brother Rakesh Kumar Mishra, a Navy sailor, broke open the bedroom door after she failed to answer. PSI Palekar of Vasco police said, "The body is 80% burnt and the room smelled of kerosene. We also found an empty plastic bottle." The body was shifted to Hospicio Hospital in Margao for a postmortem. Vasco police have registered a case of unnatural death.
