PONDA: MVR Infraprojects, a company with offices at Porvorim, has begun felling fruit trees near Chowgule Industries at Par-Usgao to construct an approach road to the new Khandepar bridge.
A supervisor attached to the company has admitted that over 150 trees are to be felled to make the approach roads on both sides.

Nitin Gadkari had laid a foundation stone for the Khandepar bridge on April 9.
The 110metre-long RCC four-lane bridge will connect Usgao to Khandepar. The project includes widening of the approach roads from Khandepar to Safa Masjid on the Ponda side and between Chowgule mining company and the bridge on Par side. The project length is 7km and the cost is 240 crore.
