14 WRD junior engineers get promotion

Panaji: The Goa Public Service Commission has promoted 14 junior engineers and technical assistants in the water resources department to the post of assistant engineers on Monday.
The WRD has seen a number of retirements in recent years of officers who had been appointed to the department in the 1980s.
Even the WRD chief engineer Pramod Badami is serving an extension.
The promoted officers include Ferdinando Mark Colaco e Rodrigues, Jyoti Prabhudessai, Vidhi Dessai, Shaik M Faizal Al-Usmani, Francisco Menezes, Reagan D’Souza, and Anjita S Divkar, who have all been promoted from technical assistant to assistant engineers.
Junior engineers Sulekha Raikar, Ulhas Shetye, Sundesh Tari, Vidya Dhawalikar, Vinoo Nayak, Kamlakant Korgaonkar and Anand Panchwadkar have also been promoted to the post of assistant engineer. The officers will be on a probation period of two years.
Recruitments to the department have not been carried out in recent years. Promotions clear the way for recruitment to the junior positions.
