GOA: One died and 13 others, including five children, were seriously injured when a truck fell into a valley in South Goa. The tragic incident occurred near Quepem town on Saturday night.
Goa chief minister Pramod Sawant and social welfare minister Subhash Phal Desai, passing by after a poll campaign, aided in the rescue efforts with locals.
The victims, seated on the truck's carrier, faced the unfortunate event as the driver lost control, causing the truck to overturn and plunge into the valley. One person died on the spot, while the others, comprising men, women, and children, sustained severe injuries.
CM Sawant, the minister, and local authorities collaborated to rescue the injured individuals, who were then swiftly transported to the Goa Medical College and Hospital near Panaji for treatment.
