Ghaziabad police swung into action after a video of the priest went viral on social media, in which Yati Narsinghanand also allegedly blamed Modi for favouring the minority communities. SP (rural) Iraj Raja said that as soon as they came to know about the video, an FIR was lodged against the head priest at Masuri police station under sections 153A (promoting enmity between different groups on grounds of religion) and 295A (deliberate and malicious acts, intended to outrage religious feelings of any class) of IPC. “We will investigate the matter and we will also send the video to experts for its authenticity. Narsinghanand will also be questioned,” he said.

Narsinghanand, however, said the video was doctored.
