Tronica City set to get 2 substations next yr, to feed 15k industries
Ghaziabad: Two new substations are set to be built in Tronica City, benefiting over 15,000 industries, particularly those in Apparel Park. The two stations are likely to be completed next year, said officials on Tuesday.
The tenders are expected to be issued by Oct and work is expected to be completed in six months. The two new substations, each with a 33/11kV capacity, will be installed in Sectors A-1 and D-1.

The new substations are expected to be operational by April-May next year, after which they will be handed over to the UP-Power Corporation Limited (UPPCL).
Executive engineer Tomar told TOI that the Tronica industrial area currently receives power from four substations.
“The existing substations with 33kV capacity each in Tronica City are supplied power from the 220kV transmission substation located in Loni. However, entrepreneurs in the area have been demanding new substations due to continued tripping and frequent outages caused by overloading. To ensure an uninterrupted power supply, two additional substations will be constructed,” said Tomar.
