The confrontation started when the lawyers interrupted a session presided over by district and sessions judge Anil Kumar.

They requested that the judge halt the current proceeding to hear a different case they were representing. The judge advised them to wait for their turn, but the situation escalated when the lawyers began raising slogans and creating a disturbance within the courtroom.

Judge Anil Kumar then called the police to manage the disruption.

The police, equipped with batons, acted promptly to disperse the lawyers. During the intervention, 8-10 lawyers sustained injuries and were subsequently taken for medical treatment.

Nahar Singh Yadav, a lawyer who was part of the protest, stated, "The lawyer’s group had visited the court and requested the judge to hear a matter of cheating in which a lawyer was a party. The judge did not address our concern and called police and ordered them to lathi-charge on us. Some of our colleagues have been injured in this incident. We have called a strike and demand action against the judge."
