Man shoots self at home, kin blames his wife for 21 yrs

Ghaziabad: A 42-year-old man, working at a private firm in Noida, allegedly shot himself at his house in Prakash Vihar colony on Saturday, police said.Loni ACP Surya Bali Maurya said the police have recovered a country-made pistol of .315 bore and three live cartridges from near the body.“The deceased had a bullet injury on his head which apparently resulted in his death. The family members, who were on the ground floor, went upstairs after listening to the sound of a bullet shot where they found Omvir lying in a pool of blood,” said the ACP. Omvir’s father Ashok has alleged that his son died by suicide because of his wife Poonam, police sources said. Omvir and Poonam were married 21 years ago and have three children. The case is being investigated, cops said. PTI

Kishore Pednekar was found in the compound after jumping off the building, while his wife, Rajshree, was found strangled in their flat. Investigations revealed Kishore had a mental health condition and sent bank account details to relatives before the incident.

Man jailed for life for murdering elder brother, his pregnant wife

A Rajkot trial court sentenced 57-year-old Pravin Maniyar to life imprisonment for the 2013 murders of his brother Haresh and Haresh's pregnant wife, Puja, over a trivial dispute. During the trial, adult witnesses turned hostile, but the pivotal testimony from the couples minor daughter helped secure the conviction. Forensic evidence also supported the case against Pravin.
