Man refuses to give friend money for booze, killed

Ghaziabad: A 30-year-old man was arrested for allegedly killing a 33-year-old man in Khoda’s Saraswati Vihar colony on Tuesday. Jasveer, who worked as an AC mechanic, was found dead with his throat slit at his rented house. The accused, Salman, is a native of Shahjahanpur and was good friends with Jasveer.Swatantra Singh, Indirapuram ACP, said that on Monday night, Jasveer called Salman and asked for Rs 1000 for buying alcohol. Later, Jasveer asked for more money, to which Salman refused. Jasveer began to fight with the accused. “At that time, Salman hit Jasveer’s face with a brick, after which he collapsed on the floor unconscious. Later, the accused took a knife from the Jasveer’s kitchen and slit his throat,” the ACP added. “Police received CCTV footage in which the accused was seen leaving Jasveer's house around 1am on Tuesday,” he said.Nimish Patil, DCP (Trans-hindon) said that around 10am, police were informed by the man’s neighbour about the body. On reaching the spot, a police team discovered the man’s body in a pool of blood. His body was sent for an autopsy and the reports are still awaited, police said.

Tiger kills man in MP, feasts on his body

In a rare incident near Bhopal, a 62-year-old man was killed by a tiger in Obedullaganj area of Raisen district. The tiger attack occurred while the man was collecting tendu leaves in Ratapani Wildlife Sanctuary. Forest officials set up camera traps to track the tiger.

Man held for killing 19-year-old niece in Yamunanagar

A 19-year-old girl was allegedly killed by her uncle Bhagwan Dass in Haryana's Yamunanagar district due to failed sexual advances. Bhagwan Dass was arrested and sent to a two-day police remand in Jagadhri. The dead body of an unknown girl with injury marks was found in an agriculture field near a college on Jagadhri-Buria road.

Man killed as roof of his house collapses during heavy rain in Madurai

In Madurai, Balasubramaniyam, 44, died as his 50-year-old house's tiled roof collapsed during heavy rain in Mathichiyam. Neighbours alerted fire and rescue services who recovered his body for postmortem at Government Rajaji Hospital. Mathichiyam police have launched an investigation.
