Man on bike collided with cattle, was gored to death, finds probe

Ghaziabad: A 21-year-old man, whose body was found in Tila Mor on Tuesday, was allegedly gored to death by cattle.
Nikhil Saxena of Delhi’s Harsh Vihar was riding a two-wheeler and was on his way home when he allegedly collided with a herd, police said. Horns of one cattle pierced his abdomen and lead to his death, they said. Earlier, Nikhil’s family alleged that he was stabbed by his friends with a glass bottle, which is cops said. His friends had told the police that he died in a road accident.
According to ACP (Shalimar Garden) Siddharth Gautam, the investigation revealed that one of Nikhil’s friends, Rohit had met with an accident on Pipeline Road, four days ago. Nikhil had gone with his friends to retrieve Rohit’s bike, which was parked somewhere in Muradnagar. While riding Rohit’s bike back to his house, Nikhil met with the accident.
According to Sanjay, Nikhil’s uncle, on Tuesday afternoon, he went out with his friend, Gaurav. After returning home, Nikhil and Gaurav went out again on a bike. Later in the evening, Nikhil’s friend Shivkumar called Sanjay to inform him that Nikhil had met with an accident and had died.
Shivkumar told cops he was running in Gagan Vihar when he saw Nikhil in pain on a bike in the service lane. Later, he called Gaurav, and the duo took Nikhil to GTB hospital, where he was declared dead on arrival, police said .
“According to eyewitness statements, Nikhil was riding the bike alone, while his two friends were on another bike. Suddenly, a cow appeared on the road. In an attempt to avoid it, he steered his bike towards the service lane but collided with another cow. The cow’s horns pierced his abdomen, causing severe injuries. His friends took him to the hospital after he was injured,” the ACP said. He added that an autopsy report is awaited.
