Man, son shoot dead kin who swindled ₹2cr in 13 years, held

Ghaziabad: A man and his son were arrested for allegedly killing a 38-year-old relative in Bamheta village on Sunday. The deceased was the nephew of the accused and worked at his shop as an accountant. He had allegedly siphoned off around Rs 2 crore from the shop over the last 13 years. Four police teams were formed to nab the accused, who were arrested from Lal Kuan while attempting to flee.
The accused, Jile Singh Yadav (41) and his son Atul (21), are residents of Bamheta. Yadav owns a shop in Sahibabad Sabji Mandi and his nephew Amal Singh Yadav (38)— a native of Amroha— had been working there as an accountant since 2010. Around 8pm on Sunday, the police were informed about the incident. A police team reached Amal’s plot in Bamheta and found the body.
DCP (Rural) Vivek Yadav said in the last 13 years, Amal generated fake bills under the account of Yadav’s shop and siphoned off money. According to Yadav, Amal had stolen over Rs 2 crore. However, Amal told Yadav that, on the contrary, his son Atul had borrowed Rs 8 lakh from him and hadn’t returned the money. Amal asked Yadav to repay the money his son had borrowed.
“Yadav was sceptical about this as Amal had left the job after he was accused of stealing the money. He had also purchased a plot in Bamheta and bought a car. On Sunday, Amal was at his plot when two of Yadav's aides arrived and asked him to return the money. Later, Yadav and his son came there. When Amal refused, they shot Amal several times. He died on the spot,” the DCP said. The police recovered two pistols. On Monday, an FIR was registered against them under relevant sections of IPC and Arms Act.
