Ghaziabad: Some unidentified people allegedly broke into a jewellery shop in Kaushambi early on Monday and decamped with ornaments worth Rs 10 lakh. The robbers were recorded on a CCTV camera installed near the shop.
The owner of the shop Rajesh Verma, who is a resident of Delhi, told police that through the CCTV footage it can be seen that the robbery took place around 3am. The footage shows five to six men getting out of the shop holding the stolen jewellery.
“The jeweller said the miscreants entered the shop by breaking the shutter of the shop and stole jewelleries worth Rs 10 lakh. It was found that the shutter was already in a dilapidated condition which made it easier for the robbers to break it. We have registered a case against the accused,” said a senior police officer.
