Four thrash man after their car hits his bike, arrested

Ghaziabad: In a case of alleged road rage, four men thrashed a man and tried to fire at him after their car hit his bike in the Raj Nagar Extension area on Friday. Police said they arrested the four on Saturday and recovered two pistols and a country-made gun. Two of the accused have a criminal history, they added.The victim, Mridul, who is in his late 20s and lives in Nangala village, told police that on Friday morning, a Kia Sonet hit his bike near the Rajnagar Extension bridge which he reached from the side of Meerut Road. “According to the complainant, four men came out of the car and thrashed him. A few minutes later, they again got hold of him near VVIP mall in Raj Nagar Extension and assaulted him,” said Alok Dubey, the ACP of Nandgram police station.Mridul also told cops that one accused asked another to shoot at him. “A bullet was fired but didn't hit him, according to Mridul. On receiving the complaint, we registered a case and formed four teams to arrest the accused. We checked the CCTV footage from the area, and with the help of local informers, our team managed to arrest the accused from near Paramount World School in Rajnagar Extension on Saturday,” said Dubey.The four accused are Deva, Himanshu Tyagi, Shivam Tyagi and Udit Tyagi, all between 19-24 years of age and residents of Ghaziabad. “We recovered two pistols and a country-made gun with six live cartridges from their possession. Udit has three cases related to murder, threats to kill, and illegal possession of arms registered against him. Himanshu has two cases of murder against him. We are now checking into the criminal history of the other two,” Dubey said.Cops booked all four under the Gangster Act. Sources in the police said they are now cross-verifying the claims of the shooting. “We checked with the locals, but no one heard any sound,” a cop said.
