Ghaziabad: Four persons died and nine others were injured in four road
accidents across the city within 10 hours on Wednesday.
In the first incident, a truck collided with another stationary truck on the DME near Crossings Republik around 12.25am on Wednesday. A 25-year-old man died while nine others, including both drivers, were injured.
ADCP (Traffic) Veerendra Kumar said a truck transporting potatoes from Meerut to Ghazipur Mandi in Delhi had a flat tyre.
The driver had parked adjacent to the DME and was changing the tyre when a speeding truck collided with the stationary truck from behind. At the time, some workers had been asleep inside the first truck.
A police team along with medical support reached the spot and brought them all to a nearby hospital, where 25-year-old Feroz, a resident of Meerut, died during treatment, the ADCP said, adding that the other nine people are currently stable.
“Police have not received any complaint in the matter,” Kumar said.
Minutes after the first incident, a man was crushed to death by a truck on GT road in Sahibabad around 12.30am. Police have not yet identified the man.
