Two groups come toblows after dog is hit with stone; 3 nabbed

Ghaziabad: Three persons were arrested on Monday after a fight broke out between two groups over an alleged mistreatment of a stray dog on the road in Sahibabad.
According to police, the accused were identified as Rakesh Kumar (43), a resident of Shahid Nagar, Vinay Kumar (21), and Narendra alias Rahul Kumar (32).
According to ACP Rajneesh Upadhyay of Sahibabad, around 8.30pm on Saturday, a stray dog entered Rakesh’s house on Telephone Exchange Road in Shahid Nagar. To scare the dog away, Rakesh threw a stone at the dog.
Later, Narendra — a neighbour who used to feed the dog near Rakesh’s house — heard about the incident and an argument broke out between the two where Narendra said that Rakesh had hit the dog and mistreated it. Furthermore, other people from both families joined the spat.
“During the fight, Rakesh and Narendra were injured, became unconscious and the two fell on the ground. Subsequently, the two were admitted to a nearby hospital where Rakesh received 10 stitches while Narendra received 8 stitches during the treatment. After the two were stable, they were arrested along with Vinay. Police are also identifying other persons involved in the fight,” the ACP said.
“Police took suo-moto and registered an FIR against all the accused under sections 191 (2) (punishment for rioting), 115 (2) (punishment for voluntarily causing hurt), 110 (attempt to commit culpable homicide), 131 (punishment for assault or criminal force otherwise than on grave provocation), 352 (intentional insult with intent to provoke breach of peace), and 351 (2) (punishment for criminal intimidation) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita,” said an official.
They were sent to judicial custody after being produced in court, the official added.
