DME crash: Toll manager, staffer named in FIR
Ghaziabad: Around hree weeks after a 20-year-old student and his mother died when their scooter collided with an Alto being driven against the traffic on Delhi-Meerut Expressway, police have named the toll manager and a toll plaza employee in the FIR.
The accident happened on July 21 when Yash Gautam and his mother, Manju (40), were returning home from Haridwar.

The driver of the Alto, identified as Devdutt Singh, was apprehended and subsequently booked under sections 106 (causing death by negligence) and 281 (rash driving) of the BNS.
Officials said that the toll personnel should not have allowed Gautam to enter the expressway since two-wheelers are prohibited on DME. ACP (Wave City) Poonam Mishra said the names of Pramod Dhankad—the manager of the toll—and Praveen—a staffer at the toll plaza—have been included in the FIR.
