Cops caught on camera taking bribe, probe on

GHAZIABAD: A video has emerged showing

cops

with a police response vehicle (

PRV

) taking

bribe

of Rs 2,500 from the driver of a truck. The three-minute video seems to be at least five days old. The clip started ciculating on

social media

on Thursday.

Taking suo motu cognizance, SP Shlok Kumar has ordered an inquiry. In the footage, the truck was flagged down by a constable who was part of the police team. The police vehicle’s registration number is UP 32 DG 2144. The constable, Kapil, was seen talking to the driver. During the conversation, the constable is heard boasting of his work in Noida. The driver purportedly hands Kapil a bundle of cash, which he puts in his pockets. After a while, a head constable arrives and the trio is seen talking about challans and fines issued by the regional transport office for traffic violations.

SP Kumar said circle officer-I (city) Dharmendra Singh Chauhan has been asked to conduct an inquiry at the earliest.
