29-yr-old man dies in crash, 20 days before UK visit for higher studies

Ghaziabad: A 29-year-old man died while four of his friends were injured in the early hours of Sunday after the Honda City car in which they were travelling towards UP Gate, was hit by a truck near the Country Inn hotel.
According to the police, Aman Chaudhary was a resident of Delhi. He was supposed to leave for the UK on Aug 28 to pursue higher education. His friends who sustained injuries—Anant Jain (27), Mukul Tyagi (30), Naitik (28), and Arpit Sethi (26)— are from Delhi as well.
“Initial investigation revealed that around 1.15am on Sunday, they were heading towards UP Gate in a car (DL9CU-4688) after having dinner at a restaurant in Mohan Nagar. A speeding truck hit the car from the side while they were making a U-turn at Bikaner Tiraaha,” said Piyush Kumar Singh, ADCP (Traffic), adding that there are no speed breakers or rumble strips at Bikaner Tiraaha, which causes vehicles to travel at high speeds on this route at night.
“All five of them were admitted to Yashoda Hospital, Kaushambi where Aman died during treatment. The others are critical and their treatment is underway,” Singh said.
Aman’s cousin Arvind told TOI that Aman was going to London for MBA after completing his engineering in Bengaluru. Aman received his London visa on Friday and was set to leave on Aug 28. Aman’s family was informed about his death around 3am on Sunday.
Rajneesh Upadhyay, ACP of Sahibabad, said that police have formed teams to nab the accused truck driver. They are checking CCTV footage of nearby areas to identify the truck or the driver.
Aman’s family hasn’t filed a complaint with the police yet.
