Ghaziabad: Seventeen persons were arrested in raids at three spas that were running sex rackets in the Niti Khand area of Indirapuram on Sunday evening. According to police, of the 17 arrested, two were managers of the spas, four males and 11 females. “During interrogation, the female workers in all three spas said that they had come to work but somehow the managers had made objectionable photos and videos of them and were blackmailing them into working at the spa as sex workers,” police said.Swatantra Singh, ACP ( Indirapuram), said the first raid was conducted in Body Shine Diamond spa wherein the manager, identified as Gulshan Singh (36), who is from Meerut, was arrested along with the staff. Police conducted the second raid at The Golden Spa, where the manager, Dushyant Kumar Singh, a resident of Budh Vihar, Delhi was arrested. The third raid was conducted at Ocean Spa in Rajhans Plaza, but the manager here fled. The accused have been booked by Indirapuram police station under the relevant sections of the Immoral Traffic Prevention Act, 1956. They were sent to judicial custody after producing them in court. Similar raids were conducted in May 2023, at the spa centres operating out of Ghaziabad’s Pacific Mall where seven persons were arrested for allegedly running sex rackets.
