A 17-year-old boy from Haryana secured All India Rank (AIR) 1 in the recent Common Law Ad- mission Test (CLAT) 2025 and is determined to dedicate his life to serving society.

Saksham Gautam of Faridabad, who studied at DPS School, Faridabad, aims to restore ethical values in people to address the "repercussions of ignorance".

Saksham scored 103.5 marks out of 116 in CLAT 2025. He was in class VII when he decided to pursue a career in law. Saksham credits his decision to his reading habits, I was focused on core concepts in the first year which were nurtured through the school's CBSE curriculum.

Talking to Education Times, TOPPER TALK he says, "My father and elder brother are both engineers and have excelled in their careers. Since my early childhood, I have been surrounded by engineering and technology books and modules. However, I never aspired to be an engineer or pursue a technical career. Instead, I wanted to dedicate my life to understanding society and the laws that govern it."

He chose Humanities in class XI and scored 95%. "I want to pursue my law degree at NLSIU, Bengaluru.

Saksham cleared the exam on his first attempt as he started preparing early.

"I have a passion for public speaking and a desire to cont ribute to society. I am not sure where my journey will take me, but I have also marked the UPSC as a career option after law," he adds.
