Erode: Independent candidate T Kumar, 34, of Gobichettipalayam, carried a vessel of water to the RDO office when he came to file his nomination on Wednesday.
Kumar has set his poll plank on the issues regarding the implementation of the Avinashi-Athikkadavu water project as well as the Pandiyar-Punnapuzha hydel project.
Talking to TOI, Kumar said the Kongu region has many long pending demands including Avinashi-Athikkadavu water project and Noiyalaru water scheme. "I will try my best to carry out the Avinashi-Athikkadavu water project at the earliest."
He also said that he will try to complete all long-pending schemes, if people give him a chance to represent their issues as an MLA in the Assembly.
However, his attempt to carry the vessel while filing his nominations was thwarted as officials at the RDO office in Gobichettipalayam denied him entry. Returning officer cum RDO of Gobichettipalayam Krishnan Unni accepted his nomination papers. tnn
