Erode college student dies by suicide

ERODE: An Erode college student died by suicide after his mother refused to give him money for online trading.

The deceased has been identified as M Mohammad Yunus, 19, who was a second-year student at a private college located on the Erode - Perundurai Road.

Yunus was engaged in online trading. On Feb 28, he sought Rs 33,000 from his mother, Rafiya, 42, for online trading. His mother declined his request. Dejected, Yunus jumped off the terrace of the two-storey house and suffered severe injuries. He was taken to a private hospital in Erode where he died in the early hours of Wednesday.

The Erode town police were investigating.
