Car catches fire in Erode
ERODE: A car caught fire in Erode city on Friday due to a “suspected short circuit,” police said.
The car caught fire when Sivakumar was returning home from the Erode bus stand area. As he approached the Veerappanchatram Mariamman Temple, Sivakumar noticed smoke emanating from the car's front. He stopped the car and got out of the vehicle.
Soon the car caught fire. He attempted to put out the flames with the help of passersby.
On being alerted, firefighters reached the spot and extinguished the blaze.
Preliminary investigations indicated that the fire had originated from the battery due to a short circuit, the Veerappanchatram police said.

WAs this a Electric car or Gasoline/ Petrol car... the news is silent about this. If it was electric car... imp;ies the tecnology for Electric car has not yet matred... Even when Ford first made Gasoline car in USA... there must have been incidence of cars going up in flame from 1900 to 1920 when tecnology was fully matured and most of issues regarding safety were resolved... even LPG cylinder--- these days found so commenly in kitchen took few decades for the gadget to be safe... ofcourse even today we hear about accidents involving LPG gas cylinders...Read allPost comment
