While the circumstances in which Singh fell from the roof have not been determined, footage from over 100 CCTV cameras showed the teenager entering a restaurant after arriving there with a driver. Police have recovered details of the liquor bill he paid there with his credit card. Soon after, he is seen staggering his way to My Bar Grille.

It is possible that a case under the Excise Act will be registered against the restaurant for serving liquor to an underaged person. The restaurant authorities apparently did not check his identity card when Singh ordered drinks.

Police questioned staff at My Bar Grille and are probing why the intoxicated youth left his mobile phone and some personal items on the stairs before walking up to the terrace. Sources said the phone calls and messages that Singh sent before his death are being cross-checked.

A family friend of the Manipuri youth told TOI on Monday that nothing had been discovered so far to suggest Singh committed suicide. “There is a strong possibility of foul play, and the restaurant needs to clarify how the boy entered the restricted terrace area,” he said.

The autopsy on Sunday showed multiple fractures of the shoulder and collar bones and severe internal bleeding.
