Woman requests Delhi Police for hotel accommodation while lying on road, video goes viral

NEW DELHI: In an unusual incident that unfolded outside the Deputy Commissioner of Police's office in southwest Delhi's Mahipalpur area, a woman named Sangeeta staged a protest by lying down on the road, demanding that the police arrange for her accommodation in a hotel. As she held her dog and screamed, "Mujhe koi nahi chahiye (I don't want anyone)," a woman attempted to persuade her to stand up.

The incident caused a commotion, attracting a crowd of onlookers as Sangeeta's protest blocked a portion of the road during the evening rush hour. A police officer tried to manage the traffic while another woman urged Sangeeta to leave, to which she responded, "You go. I don't want to see anyone."

Upon questioning by the police, Sangeeta revealed that she had been staying at a hotel in Mahipalpur but was now being denied further accommodation. She insisted that the police should make arrangements for her to continue staying at a hotel. However, when the police investigated the matter with the hotel staff, it was discovered that Sangeeta had been residing there for an extended period without settling her bill. The police are currently providing counseling to the woman to resolve the situation.
