NEW DELHI: Deepak Boxer, one of Delhi’s most wanted gangsters, may have fled the country on a fake passport. Police suspect that Boxer flew to Mexico in December or January. The development comes after the cops retrieved a passport, which had Boxer’s photograph on it but was issued with a different name. The passport holder took a flight from Kolkata.

The fake passport was made in Bareilly in UP in December last year. “The passport was in the name of one P Antil Ravi. He mentioned his father’s name as Manoj Antil and mother’s name as Saroj Devi,” said an official.

According to a source, there is a possibility that gangsters Lawrence Bishnoi and Goldi Brar helped him to escape from the country. “We have got information that after escaping, he went to Germany and then to Mexico,” the source added.

Boxer, 27, is carrying a reward of more than Rs 3 lakh on his arrest. He is heading the erstwhile Gogi gang after the former kingpin, Jitender Gogi, was killed inside the Rohini courts complex in September 2021. After the murder, Boxer started managing the affairs of the Gogi gang. Cops have found that he had been running the gang’s operation with the help of his gang members lodged in jail.

Boxer came to limelight in 2016 when he freed gangster Jitender alias Gogi from police custody in Haryana. Last year, he claimed responsibility for the killing of builder-hotelier Amit Gupta through an Instagram handle used by his henchmen to post regular updates about the gang’s “achievements”
