VHP spokesperson Vinod Bansal asserted that the RSS embodies values of unity and simplicity. He referenced historical figures such as Mahatma Gandhi, Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel, and Lal Bahadur Shastri, who, he claimed, acknowledged the RSS’s positive contributions. “Mahatma Gandhi himself praised the absence of untouchability in RSS shakhas. Defaming such an open and transparent organisation is baseless,” Bansal said.

He further criticised Dalwai for allegedly trying to tarnish the sacred land of Chhatrapati Shivaji by promoting divisive narratives. “Your attempts to turn Shivaji’s land into a haven for jihadist ideologies will never succeed. Spare Hindu society from your baseless accusations or face legal action,” Bansal warned.

Dalwai, a former Rajya Sabha MP, on Thursday alleged that RSS promotes violence. Speaking to ANI, he claimed, “There are four things which RSS teaches kids. First thing is how to lie... Second, they teach vio lence, it is completely wrong. This is (Mahatma) Gandhi’s nation, divisions get amplified due to this and in a way people g et scared. They want to keep people scared.”

Dalwai also alleged a conspiracy behind the death of Deendayal Upadhyay, the founder of Jan Sangh, suggesting a hidden report on the matter. Bansal said, “Public will not be misled by your attempt to defame and spew venom on organisations like the RSS when elections are round the corner.”

The political row has further deepened the divide between the Congress and BJP affiliated groups, with both sides trading accusations over history, ideology, and electoral motives.
