Two Brothers Found Dead in southwest Delhi, Police Probe All Angles
New Delhi: Two brothers were found dead under mysterious circumstances at their rented home in southwest Delhi’s Nawada on Saturday.
Police said the case is being investigated from all angles, including the possibility of murder.
The deceased, aged 50 and 45 years, lived on the first floor of the building. Police sources said a heated argument was reported inside the house on Thursday night. Around 11:30 pm, a female tenant in the building called the landlord to complain about the loud noise.
When the landlord arrived, he found the door open. The elder brother’s son, who was present, reportedly told him that his father and uncle often argued after consuming alcohol. No immediate signs of injury or distress were noticed, and the situation appeared normal at the time.
The matter took a serious turn on Saturday afternoon, around 4.30 pm, when the son allegedly began shouting that his father and uncle had died after drinking excessively and demanded that their cremation be carried out immediately.
Neighbours alerted the police around 7 pm. The son was reported missing briefly after the incident but was later traced and taken in for questioning.
Police confirmed that no visible injuries were found on the bodies. While initial statements suggest an alcohol-related death, authorities are exploring all possibilities, including foul play. No evidence of outsiders being present at the residence has been found so far, and investigators are trying to ascertain who else may have been in the house at the time.
A senior officer said, “The case is being probed from all angles, including the possibility of murder. Forensic teams and police are conducting a detailed examination. Statements of all family members and neighbours are being recorded.”
The post-mortem report is awaited to confirm the exact cause of death, which will help determine whether the deaths were accidental or involved foul play.
