Truck hits councillor's car, 1 held

NEW DELHI: In another accident, the car of east Delhi's Kondli councillor was hit by a truck on Tuesday morning near Ghazipur mandi's paper market. The truck driver has been arrested.
The incident was reported around 7.20 am when the 40-year-old councillor, Rajiv Kumar Verma, was on his way to drop his two daughters to school.
Verma, who has received injury on his head and face, said that when the truck hit his white i20 car, his car turned a few times.The locals rushed to his rescue and got him out of the car. But the car doors got locked and Verma's younger daughter got stuck inside. She was later rescued.
One of the eyewitnesses, Vijay Menon, said he saw the truck overspeeding. "It has become a routine affair of overspeeding truck ramming into private vehicles," he said. tnn
