New Delhi: A head constable riding a motorbike died after he was hit by a speeding truck on Palam flyover early on Friday morning.Police have arrested the suspected offending driver. The deceased was identified as Amit Shantipal (40), head constable in the West district of
Delhi Police. Cops got a distress call at 2.07 am and reached the spot. They found a damaged motorcycle and a truck.
Cops learnt that the speeding truck hit the bike from the back. Shantipal fell from the bike and suffered grave injuries. He was rushed to DDU hospital, where he was declared brought dead. Police have filed a case under Sections 281 (rash driving or riding on a public way) and 106 (rash and negligent driving) of BNS. The truck driver, Salman Ahmad, was arrested on the spot. TNN
