DCP (south) Ishwar Singh said that a team led by ACP Vasant Vihar KP Kukrety arrested the accused, identified as Sanjay Kumar Yadav, Roshan and Hukum Yadav. Cops have recovered 140 cartons of stolen goods from them.

Police said that the incident was reported on November 6, when a delivery truck containing 160 cartons did not reach its designated warehouse in Samalkha in southwest Delhi. Preliminary investigation revealed that the driver of the truck has switched off his mobile phone after loading the cargo from IGI Airport.

The owner of the cargo company informed that they did not have any further details of the truck driver as he was a new employee. The address given by the driver to the company was also fake. The cops then used electronic surveillance of the driver’s mobile phone to track him. Sanjay and Roshan were apprehended from a room in southwest Delhi’s Pochanpur village, where they had rented a room using fake IDs.

Based on their statements, cops also apprehended Hukum Dev Yadav, who was the mastermind behind the robbery. He procured all the fake IDs and SIM cards. Cops are further interrogating them to see if they are involved in more incidents.
