NEW DELHI: Mukesh Gupta, a chemist from Model Town could hardly believe his luck when he was informed late on Sunday evening by Femina Miss India-Universe 2002 Neha Dhupia that he had won an Indica V2 car at the Big CP sale contest.
‘‘I had been filling up coupons for various contests, but never won anything. I never thought I would win a car when I went shopping at the CP sale on August 20.

In fact, I did not even bother to be at Bentley showroom when the draw of lots took place on Sunday,’’ he said.
Gupta was the third person to get an Indica car through weekly draw of lots at the Big CP sale contest. The event is sponsored by Delhi Times. The scheme is open to shoppers till the September 1, when the sale ends.
Gupta had shopped at TQS. ‘‘The salespersons there asked me to fill up the contest form. But I never thought I would win,’’ he said.
The lots were drawn by Neha Dhupia, who frequently comes to Connaught Place to shop. ‘‘For the Miss India contest, I did most of my shopping at CP. This place will always be close to my heart,’’ she said.
Bentley store’s vice-president Rajat Bhatia said with offers like Indica cars, shoppers had been particularly excited about the festival. ‘‘This week, we got an opportunity to host the draw of lots event. It was amazing to see so many people gather outside our shop when the draw was taking place,’’ he said.

Last Sunday, Poonam Aggarwal, a resident of Patparganj had won an Indica at the Big CP Sale. The lots were drawn by Femina Miss India (runner-up) Tina Chattwal.
Sixteen outlets have joined hands to offer discounts ranging from five to 50 per cent in the Big CP sale. Participating outlets include Balujas, Bentley, Greenways, Mohanlal Sons, Snowhite Square, Handloom House, Kalpana, Optical Palace, Benaras House, D Vaish and Sons, Khanna Opticals, Louis Philppe, Trouser Town, TQS, Vanson and Vintage.
The car is being offered as part of the scheme to spur the excitement. To win the car, a person has to shop for goods worth Rs 500 or more each at any two participating outlets. At the second purchase, the person is entitled to fill the Delhi Times coupon for the offer. The draw of lots takes place on Sunday.
