Teen killed after mediating in friend’s love affair, five held
New Delhi: An 18-year-old youth was murdered in southeast Delhi's Nizamuddin on Monday, allegedly for trying to mediate in a romantic relationship between his friend and one of the accused's sister. Police arrested four people and apprehended one juvenile. "The victim, Mohammad Saad, was found lying in a pool of blood near a drain with a deep cut on the throat, indicating a premeditated and violent attack," an officer said. A murder case under BNS Section 103 was registered. Initial inquiries revealed that Saad was involved in two criminal cases. Police arrested the main accused, 18-year-old Altamash, a battery repairman from Alvi Chowk. Altamash was opposed to his sister Zara's relationship with Azeem, Saad's close friend. "Saad repeatedly urged Altamash to accept the relationship. This angered Altamash, who viewed it as undue interference," the officer said.He allegedly conspired with his associates to eliminate Saad. On May 12, the group lured him to a spot near the drain and slit his throat with a sharp weapon. The arrested also include Faizan (22), a rickshaw driver and known history-sheeter, Dilshad alias Jhudi and Abrar alias Sabu (both 18). A 17-year-old juvenile has been detained.
