The victim was originally from Pilibhit in Uttar Pradesh and used to live here in the college hostel. His father is a constable with UP police.
Deputy commissioner of police (west) Satish Golcha said: ‘‘The boy was last seen when he went to see his brother off at the New Delhi railway station on Sunday night. He did not return to the hostel.’’ The victim’s brother had come to Delhi to take an engineering entrance examination.
Stab injuries were found in the victim’s body on the right side of the stomach and below the knees. His friends and college authorities, however, ruled out enmity as one of the motives. A case of murder has been registered.
